We are a new association dedicated to serving the purposes of scholars - including faculty, students, and independent researchers - involved in the study of Canada through Canadian Studies programs or within other disciplines at the post-secondary level in Canada.
We welcome individuals or institutions involved in Canadian Studies at the post-secondary level to participate in and/or join the Canadian Studies Network.

We are pleased to announce that Donica Belisle has won the Pierre Savard award from the ICCS for the best book in Canadian Studies. Her book, Retail Nation: Department Stores and the Making of Modern Canada, was published in July 2011.
Regretfully a decision has been made by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) Authorities to abolish the Understanding Canada-Canadian Studies Program. The ICCS Secretariat will have until March 31, 2013 to close the books, prepare final reports, communicate with grant award holders, etc. Nevertheless the AGM Meeting will take place in May at DFAIT as previously scheduled where this ministerial decision will be discussed. The International Council for Canadian Studies (ICCS) is pleased to announce that its next conference, entitled Cultural Challenges of Migration in Canada, will be held in Ottawa from May 22 to 24, 2012, in collaboration with the Universities of Ottawa and Carleton. Announcement ishere!
